Where we photograph in Évora
The base session covers one location, and in Évora that usually means a choice between two. The Roman temple suits visitors who want the photograph that says where they were — columns, open sky, the town around it. The aqueduct street suits those who want something less obvious, where people live inside the arches of a sixteenth-century structure. Praça do Giraldo is the third possibility if you are early risers, under the arcades before the cafés are set up. The cathedral roof is ticketed and can be chosen too, if the view matters more than the space.
The best time in Évora
If you are staying overnight, book the evening of arrival or the next morning, before breakfast. April, May and October are easy at either end of the day. In summer the only real options are seven in the morning or eight at night. A day trip that arrives at eleven has no good hour in July and August, and the honest advice is to change the plan, not the hour. Winter day trips are a different matter: the low sun all day long makes the middle of the day usable.

Can we bring our children?
Yes. The holiday session is for whoever is on the trip, at €200 from; tell us how many are coming. With small children choose the morning, both for their mood and for the heat, and the arcaded square, which gives them room to move in the shade.
Where do we meet the photographer?
At the chosen spot, confirmed with the booking, along with the photographer’s name. The town is small enough that wherever you are staying inside the walls, you can walk there in a few minutes. The photographs arrive within 48h, often before you have left the Alentejo.
