Why choose Holiday session in Cascais?
Most people booking a holiday photoshoot in Cascais are based in Lisbon for the week and carve out a single seaside day; what they want from it is one batch of pictures with every member of the group in frame, grandparents included. The day trip is part of the appeal: the train from Cais do Sodré follows the river and then the coast, so you arrive at the session already relaxed. The session is 30 min in one place, with photographs of the trip that include whoever usually holds the phone. The gallery is online within 48h, often before you fly home.
Where we photograph in Cascais
For most groups, the bay is the right choice. It is a few minutes’ walk from the station, it is sheltered, and its south-facing sand with old boats and the town behind is recognisably Cascais without being a postcard. Families with older children who want a wilder beach can go to Guincho, but it needs a car or a taxi and an early start. Couples on holiday who want the evening rather than the morning should take the marina walkway, which gets the sunset and stays photogenic even when the beach below is crowded.
The best time in Cascais
Day-trippers have an unusual advantage here: the bay keeps its brightness well into the morning, so the shoot can begin after an unhurried breakfast in Lisbon and a train ride, rather than at dawn. If the plan is to spend the afternoon on the beach, do the session first, before sun cream, wet hair and sand. August brings the heaviest crowds; a June or September visit trades a little warmth for far more room on the sand.
What does the package include?
The package in Cascais covers: 15–20 retouched photographs; 30 minutes, one neighbourhood; Private gallery within 48 hours. Nothing is added to the price after the session.
FAQ — Holiday session in Cascais
We are on a day trip from Lisbon. What time should we book?
Plan the session for the first part of the day, between your arrival and about eleven, when the bay is still well lit. That leaves the rest of the day for lunch and the beach. If you prefer an evening session at the marina, check the last trains back to Lisbon before booking.
We are staying in Estoril. Can the session be there instead?
Yes, Estoril is part of the area covered. Choose one location for the session, either your end of the coast or the bay in Cascais; there is no time to do both in 30 min. The photographer can suggest the best spot near your hotel when confirming the booking.
Is it fine to wear swimsuits for some of the photographs?
Of course, it is a holiday. Most families start dressed and change at the end, when the photographer has the safe frames. Bring a towel and a bag, and decide in advance who carries it, because a beach bag in the background is the one detail everyone notices later.
