Why choose Wedding in Évora?
A wedding photographer in Évora has one great advantage and one serious constraint. The advantage is distance: within the walls, the temple, the cathedral, the main square and the aqueduct are all a few minutes apart on foot, so the portraits between ceremony and dinner do not need a car or a driver. The constraint is summer heat, which rules out a great deal of the afternoon. Plan around the second and the first does the rest. Coverage runs from the preparations to the first hour of the party, and follows your schedule, not a template of ours.
Where we photograph in Évora
Ceremony and reception venues are yours, and the photographer goes where they are, in town or out in the countryside the area covers. For the portraits, the walled centre offers a short circuit that very few cities can: the Templo Romano with the evening sun on its columns, then down to the arches of the Aqueduto da Água de Prata, where doorways sit inside the structure. The cathedral roof gives the only view over the town, but needs tickets and visiting hours, so it is a planned stop or none at all. If your reception is in Monsaraz or near the Alqueva, the portraits are done there instead, and the photographer scouts that ground in advance.
The best time in Évora
Between June and September, an Évora ceremony at four in the afternoon means photographing guests in direct overhead sun at the hottest part of the day. Six or later is far kinder, and it puts the couple portraits in the last hour of light, around eight. Spring and October are the comfortable months, with mild evenings. Winter weddings in the Alentejo are rare but rewarding: the cork oaks and the plain are green, and the town is quiet, though the light ends early and the evening is cold.
What does the package include?
The package in Évora covers: 400 retouched photographs; Ten hours of coverage; A timing plan agreed a month beforehand; Private gallery within three weeks. Nothing is added to the price after the session.
FAQ — Wedding in Évora
Our guests are coming from abroad in July. How do we keep them comfortable?
Put the ceremony late, give people shade and water before it, and keep the group photographs short and in the shade of a building. The photographer helps plan the timing a month before, so that the formal group frames happen when the sun is already low.
Can we include the cathedral roof in the portraits?
Yes, if it fits its visiting hours. It is paid entry, so your party needs tickets, and visitors may be on it with you. We look at it when building the timing plan; often it is better visited earlier in the day than squeezed in before dinner.
What is delivered after the day?
400 retouched photographs, in a gallery within 3 weeks. The timing plan agreed a month beforehand is part of the booking, which is where details such as which order the portrait stops come in are decided, with the light in Évora on that date in mind.
