Why choose Elopement in Évora?
An elopement photographer in Évora can show you something a weekend wedding rarely gets: the whole town, on foot, at the hours it looks best. Five hours with no schedule to defend is enough to walk from the Roman temple to the main square, the cathedral and the aqueduct without hurrying, and none of the time goes into traffic. That makes the Alentejo capital an unusually good place for two people, or a dozen, who want the place to be the guest list. The pace is yours; the photographer only insists on the hour.
Where we photograph in Évora
The order matters more than the list. Start at the Templo Romano, where the morning sun behind the columns makes the opening frames graphic and quiet. Walk down to Praça do Giraldo before the cafés open, when the arcades and the marble fountain are still yours. The cathedral roof, if you want the view over the rooftops, fits mid-morning as part of a ticketed visit. Finish at the aqueduct street, a lived-in place where doors open into the arches. An evening elopement runs the same circuit in reverse, ending at the temple with the light in front of it. Out of town, Monsaraz is an option too.
The best time in Évora
Five hours either fits a morning or an evening, but in summer it cannot bridge the middle of the day. A July elopement runs from about six in the morning to eleven, or from mid-afternoon in the shade into the evening light; start later and the midday glare ruins half of it. April, May and October allow more freedom. In winter the town is empty, and the short day suits a single block of coverage from late morning to sunset.
What does the package include?
The package in Évora covers: 200 retouched photographs; Five hours of coverage; Locations scouted for the hour you are there; Private gallery within two weeks. Nothing is added to the price after the session.
FAQ — Elopement in Évora
Where can the ceremony itself take place?
That depends on whether it is a legal ceremony or a symbolic one, and whom you ask for permission. We do not name venues we have not confirmed for your date. Tell us what kind of ceremony you are planning and the photographer will tell you what the town makes simple and what needs asking in advance.
What if we want to see the countryside, not just the town?
Then the five hours are split: part in the walled centre, part out in the plain or at one of the covered villages. It works best when the drive is in the middle of the day, when nothing is worth photographing anyway, and the light is kept for either end.
How long until we see the photographs?
You will receive 200 retouched images in a gallery within 2 weeks. Each location was scouted for the hour you were there, so the sequence in the gallery usually reads as one continuous morning or evening rather than as a set of separate stops.
