The second is the same temple at blue hour, after sunset, when the columns are lit and the evening has thinned out. The cathedral roof sounds romantic, but it is ticketed, part of a visit with other visitors on it, and offers no hiding place, so we do not recommend it for the question itself. Praça do Giraldo after ten is the town’s meeting point and is the wrong place for anything you want to keep between two people.
The best time in Évora
Spring and October make either end of the day comfortable. In summer the early option is far better: a seven o’clock walk is pleasant, and an eight o’clock evening one can still be very warm, which shows on faces and shirts. Winter gives you the emptiest temple of the year, though the sunrise light falls behind the columns and the frames of the moment itself will be cooler and bluer. That is often beautiful; it is just worth knowing beforehand.
