Why choose Newborn session in Évora?

Most people who search for a newborn photographer in Évora are not visitors. They live here, in the town or in the countryside around it, and the baby arrived a few days ago. The session comes to your home, inside the first two weeks, and works around feeds rather than against them. There is nothing about the Roman temple in it. What Évora does shape is the house: narrow streets that keep rooms in shade, and summer shutters kept closed against the heat, both of which change where the light is and when the photographer should arrive.

Where we photograph in Évora

The session happens in one room of your home, chosen on the day by where the light falls most gently. In a townhouse inside the walls, with streets too narrow for much direct sun, that is often an upstairs room or the one facing the widest gap between buildings. In a house out in the plain it is more likely to be a room that gets indirect light from a covered porch. The photographer brings what is needed and sets it near that window; you do not have to tidy the whole house, only the corner being used. If you live in one of the covered villages, such as Arraiolos or Redondo, give the address with the booking.

The best time in Évora

Morning, after a feed, when the baby is most likely to sleep and the house is still cool. In summer that matters twice over: a sleeping newborn needs warmth, but a room that is already hot by noon is hard on everybody. Book within the first fortnight, ideally around day seven to ten, and hold the slot loosely, because babies keep their own diary. Winter sessions are no problem indoors, though the rooms with the best light may also be the coldest, so warm the chosen one beforehand.

What does the package include?

The package in Évora covers: 15–20 retouched photographs; 30 minutes at your home, with natural light; Private gallery within 72 hours. Nothing is added to the price after the session.

FAQ — Newborn session in Évora

Our house keeps the shutters closed against the heat. Is that a problem?

No. On the day, we open one window’s shutters and use that light, often only partly, which gives a softer result than a fully open window anyway. Keep the rest of the house as dark and cool as you like; only the corner where the baby is photographed needs light.

We live on a farm outside town. Will the photographer come out?

The Évora area covers the surrounding towns, including places such as Estremoz and Vila Viçosa. For a home further out, tell us where when you book and we confirm whether it is inside the covered area before anything is paid.

How much handling of the baby is involved?

Very little. Babies are photographed as they are, sleeping in your arms, in a basket or on the bed, not posed in props. Parents do any lifting or settling. If a feed takes longer than planned, the session waits; the 30 min is photography time, not a stopwatch on the baby.
