Why choose Elopement in the Azores?
An elopement photographer in the Azores enjoys a freedom a full wedding on the island never gets: the day can move. With just the two of you, or a handful of guests, and no venue holding a date hostage, everything can slide to whichever morning the craters emerge. That flexibility is why São Miguel and eloping fit together so naturally. 5 hours of coverage stretches far enough to begin somewhere with a view, finish somewhere warm, and still pull over en route when a sudden break in the cloud makes the decision for you. It is the closest thing to a guarantee this island offers.
Where we photograph in the Azores
With five hours, the island’s alternatives become a route rather than a choice. A morning opening at Lagoa do Fogo or on the Sete Cidades rim, whichever has cleared, can continue to Furnas for closer frames among vapour and garden, with vows or a toast somewhere between. Where the ceremony itself takes place is entirely your call. The photographer reads the sky, checks each stop for the hour you will be there, and keeps the light working in your favour. A late lunch in Ponta Delgada or Vila Franca do Campo can round off the day within the coverage.
The best time in the Azores
Choose a span of three or four days instead of a single date, and let the photographer make the call the evening before. In the drier months from July to September odds are best, while June adds blue hedgerows along eastern roads. Emptier months bring rougher weather, but also sudden clear spells and almost nobody else at viewpoints, which for a couple wanting the place to themselves can outweigh a shower or two. Start early regardless; first light on a crater rim repays the alarm many times over.
What does the package include?

FAQ — Elopement in the Azores
Can our elopement date really change at the last minute?
Within your booked window, yes, and on São Miguel that is the standard approach rather than an emergency measure. Anything tied to a date, such as a celebrant, a dinner reservation or a hairdresser, should be arranged with that flexibility in mind or scheduled for the evening, so moving the morning does not unravel everything else.
We want a few guests. Does that change the plan?
A dozen people still counts as an elopement, but it needs more cars and a meeting point everyone can find. Mention numbers up front. A rim suits a small, nimble group; for anyone unsteady on rough ground, Furnas is far easier, and the photographer can plan the group picture there.
How many photographs do we get, and when?
200 retouched photographs spanning all five hours, delivered within 2 weeks. The licence covers personal use, so prints, an album, a party back home later and social media are all fine, and the gallery can go straight to relatives who could not make the trip.
