Where we photograph in Comporta

If you are staying further south, near Melides, the pines on the sand roads there are a calmer alternative and closer to your door. One of the two, not both. The white single-storey houses are tempting backgrounds too, but most of them are someone’s home; the house you are renting is a perfectly good choice if it has a terrace or a garden you have grown fond of.
The best time in Comporta
End of the day, almost without exception. The beach looks straight at the sunset, and that is when the light is warmest and lowest across the sand. In May and June the paddies inland add the option of water and sky; in September the shore is warm and empty again. August is the full month — the session still works, but you will share the boardwalk with other families heading home. Mornings are possible in the pines if small children make evenings difficult, and in midsummer they are also the coolest option.

Can the photographer come to our rented house?
Yes, as the single location. A terrace with a view or a garden under pines can make a lovely set. The 30 min stays at that place, though, so if the beach matters more to you, meet the photographer there and keep the house for your own phone pictures.
We have no car this week. Is that a problem?
It can be, since getting around this coast without one is hard. Reaching the beach or the pines would mean a taxi or a lift from your hosts. If that is awkward, the house you are staying in avoids the issue entirely: tell us where it is and the photographer comes to you.
How soon can we see the pictures?
The 15–20 edited photographs are delivered within 48h. Book in the first days of the stay and you will have them while you are still here, which is a good moment to choose one for a print, or to send to the people who could not come.
