The best time in Porto
Foz gets an ocean sunset in every season, so start about an hour ahead of it. In Gaia, nine o’clock beats the crowds. Heavily pregnant in July? The cooler morning will feel better, and Foz can be gusty whatever the month. In the wettest weeks of winter, keep home as plan B rather than sliding past the 30-to-36-week window.

Can we do it at home if it rains?

Not at all; Vila do Conde lies inside the coverage area, and a session at home there is simple. If you would rather be outside, pick the nearest flat spot and the timing is checked against its light before anything is confirmed.
